What is this calendar and why do I need it? This is your personal booking page — a link you can send to title companies, signing services, or anyone who needs to schedule a notary appointment with you. Instead of going back and forth by text or phone to find a time, they click your link, pick an available slot, and it gets added to your calendar automatically.
Do I need to connect my Google Calendar? You don't have to, but it's strongly recommended. When your Google Calendar is connected, anything already on your personal calendar will automatically show as unavailable in your booking page — so no one can accidentally book you when you're already busy. You can connect it under Settings → Integrations.
What's the difference between "Slot Duration" and "Slot Interval"? Slot Duration is how long each appointment is. Slot Interval is how often a new appointment slot appears on your calendar. For most notaries, set both to the same amount of time — for example, both at 60 minutes — so your appointments don't overlap.
What is "Buffer Time" and should I use it? Buffer time adds a gap after each appointment before the next one can be booked. As a mobile notary, this is especially useful if you need drive time between signings. For example, if you set a 30-minute buffer, no one can book right after your previous appointment ends — giving you time to travel.
What is "Minimum Scheduling Notice"? This setting prevents people from booking you at the last minute. For example, if you set it to 4 hours, no one can book you less than 4 hours from now. If you accept same-day signings, you can set it lower. If you need more prep time, set it higher.
How far out can people book me? You can control how many days into the future your calendar is available for bookings. For example, you might allow bookings up to 60 days out. Anything beyond that won't show as an available slot. You can adjust this in your calendar settings.
Can I limit how many appointments I take per day? Yes. The "Appointments Per Day" setting lets you set a cap. If you know you can realistically handle 4 signings in a day, set it to 4. Once that number is hit, no more bookings will be accepted for that day.
Where do I find my booking link to share it? Go to Calendars in the left menu, find your calendar, and click the Share button in the top right corner. Click Copy Link. You can then paste that link into a text message, email, or anywhere else you want clients to be able to book you.
Can I see what my calendar looks like before I share it? Yes — after copying your link, paste it into a private or incognito browser window. That's exactly what someone will see when they try to book you.
What happens after someone books an appointment? Both you and the person who booked will get a confirmation. The appointment will show up in your calendar inside the LSS Notary Marketing Software. If you've connected Google Calendar, it will sync there too.
Can I add an appointment myself instead of having someone book online? Yes. Go to your Calendar view, click on the time slot you want, and select "Book Appointment." This is useful when someone calls you to book and you want to add it manually.
My calendar isn't showing any available times — what's wrong? The most common reasons are:
Your working hours haven't been set yet
Your Minimum Scheduling Notice is too high and is blocking out near-term slots
You haven't been added as a team member under Settings → My Staff
If you're still stuck, look for the "Troubleshoot Calendar" option inside your calendar settings — it will walk you through diagnosing the issue.
Do I need to check my timezone setting? Yes — make sure your timezone is set correctly in your profile. If it's off, your available time slots could show up at the wrong times for you or your clients. You can check this under Settings → Profile.
